Technical Q&As: AppleScript
AppleScript, the native Mac OS X scripting language, is widely used by developers and other creative professionals to build workflow solutions for print, web, and media publishing. AppleScript can launch and send commands to a faceless application called Image Events to automate workflows that manipulate images. Image Events uses a built-in service called Scriptable Image Processing System (SIPS) for operations such as scaling, rotating, cropping, sizing, padding, profiling, tagging, and converting file formats.
